PET (Personal Empowerment Tool) is a Chrome extension designed to motivate and support users while they browse, study, or work. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how the extension handles your data.

What Data We Collect

PET does not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information such as your name, email, or browsing history.

The extension only stores data locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This includes:

Custom pep lines: Motivational messages you write
Avatar selection: Which pet character you've chosen
Progress tracking: Focus session data (time spent, dates) for your personal progress statistics
Settings: Timer preferences and notification frequency
Avatar position: Where you've positioned your pet on screen

All data is stored locally on your device and never leaves your browser or gets sent to external servers.

Progress Tracking

PET tracks your focus sessions to show you progress statistics like daily minutes, weekly totals, and streak counts. This data is:

Stored only on your local device
Never shared or transmitted anywhere
Used solely to display your personal progress in the "Progress Pawprint" section
Limited to the most recent 2,000 sessions to manage storage space

Permissions Explained

Storage: Saves your custom pep lines, avatar choice, progress data, and settings locally
Tabs: Allows PET to show your motivational companion across different browser tabs
Alarms: Used to schedule periodic motivational nudges at your chosen intervals

Third-Party Services

PET does not use or connect to any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or remote code sources. All functionality runs locally on your browser.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, transfer, or share any user data to third parties. Your data remains private and local to your device.

Data Deletion

You can clear all your PET data at any time by:

Clearing your pep lines in the control panel
Uninstalling the extension (removes all local data)
Using Chrome's "Clear browsing data" feature for extension data
